The Minister of Mines and Mining Development is the highest authority within the Ministry followed by the Deputy Minister. The Permanent Secretary is the Accounting Officer and is responsible for daily management.

There is a Chief Director in the Ministry, Chief Director Technical Services.

The Ministry has eleven Departments which are headed by a Director except Procurement Management Unit headed by Deputy Director. The Departments are as follows:
